Kennesaw Museum Foundation Announces Greatly Grizzly Winner

(Kennesaw, GA) — Kristin Davis of Dallas, GA, is the proud owner of a brand-new Yamaha Grizzly ATV, courtesy of the Kennesaw Museum Foundation.

The Foundation raffled off the ATV, donated by Yamaha Marine Corporation, to benefit the Foundation and the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History. Davis, along with her two sons and husband, was excited to learn that she had won. “I didn't believe it at first!” she exclaimed. “My husband will ride around with it, and once the boys get older we'll take them out on it.

“We're very excited to get the ATV home and start riding,” she finished.

The raffle raised approximately $7,000 for the Museum and Foundation. “We want to thank Yamaha for donating the ATV,” said Paul Chastain, Foundation president. “Ticket sales were very successful, and I'd like to thank everyone who participated.”

Martin Peters was on hand to represent Yamaha Marine Corporation. “We are very proud to support the Museum, and believe it is a vital part of the community,” he said. “Yamaha's very happy this raffle generated so much success, and we look forward to potential future partnerships with the Southern Museum.”

Davis drove away with a Yamaha Grizzly 550 ATV that came equipped with several features including electronic power steering for superior comfort, fully automatic Ultramatic® transmission, On-Command® In/Out RWD feature, and a trick digital instrument panel — boasting a multifunction LCD display including a speedometer, odometer, 4WD status, transmission position, fuel gauge, and more.

“The Museum is committed to providing quality programs and events to the surrounding area,” said Jeff Drobney, executive director of the Museum. “For example, we offer several education programs such as Mommy & Me and Make It & Take It, and Smithsonian-affiliated exhibits like the current In Focus, which showcases National Geographic's greatest portraits.”

A Smithsonian Institution affiliate, the Southern Museum features collections of rare Civil War weapons, uniforms and other personal items; an exciting exhibit about The Great Locomotive Chase, including a short movie; and a full-scale replica of a locomotive factory that helped rebuild the South after the war. The Southern Museum is located 20 miles north of Atlanta, off I-75 at exit 273. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors, $5.50 for children ages three through 12 and free children two and under.
